Rules of the event

2009:

Competent swimmers only.
Children under 12 must be accompanied by a competent adult.

All entries for events 1 - 6 must reach the organisers BEFORE 12:00 on 12 January 2009.
Fun swim (600m) entries accepted on the day only.

Entry fee to the dam for swimmers and spectators is paid by the organisers.

Competitors must register during the 90minute period immediately preceding their event.

The event will take place irrespective of the weather.
Should it be impossible to hold the event for reasons beyond our control the following conditions will apply:
No entry fees will be refunded
No Medals/certificates will be issued
We shall be entitled to recover all costs incurred in organising the event from the entry fees received
The balance of the fees will be donated to charity
Announcement of cancellation of the event via press, radio and this forum.

Any competitor who fails to obey the conditions of entry, instructions of an official or who receives assistance while swimming may be disqualified.
Wet suits and swimming aids are not allowed.

Competitors are only allowed to swim in the event determined by their age and the sex unless otherwise agreed to by the organisers, irrespective of the event indicated on the entry form.
Entries without the name of the school will not be considered for the school trophies or prizes.

ALL COMPETITORS SWIM AT OWN RISK.
If anyone cannot swim 1000m in a pool under 40minutes, it is inadvisable to attempt this swim.
